May 9, 2008 Deerfield defeats Glenview
 |
For many years I have entertained everyone with stories of the ups and downs of the Deerfield team, and I have signed the e-mail as Team Kaptain. Eventho I am a horrible speller, there is actually a reason for that. Our team colors have been Yellow and Navy Blue, so imagine my delight when I found an old baseball hat from my college that was, yes...Navy Blue. Since I went to Knox College, there was a large yellow "K" on the front, in case anyone forgot that I was...THE TEAM KAPTAIN.

Unfortunately, I have been moved up to Division Chairman and had to, reluctantly, hand over the job to Sally Reich. However, with all the responsibility, headaches and planning, I decided that she deserve the Kaptain's hat as well. So here is Sally enjoying the success of a well played match against Glenview today. VICTORY FOR DEERFIELD!!! So Sally, as team captain, is at 100%. There will be a sign-up sheet for team on the table Tuesday, it will be our first home game and we want to keep Sally smiling!
Our ladies went out and played well enough to defeat an always strong opponet in Glenview. Monica Coleman and Suzanne Riccardi lead the charge and won easily, Casey Kramer, Ruth Wesselhoff with the Barb Levin and Liz Peterson team kept it close and allowed the team to squeak out a 27.5 to 26.5 vicotry.
